Key information about the church...

When and where does the church meet?

We meet every Sunday at 10:30 am for our  Sunday morning service. Please see Sunday Services for more details. Aim to arrive 10 minutes early to ensure you get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to begin. If the Church car park is full, you can usually park in the car park of the adjoining Mearns Castle High School.

We meet at: Waterfoot Road, Newton Mearns, Glasgow G77 5RE

You can see a map on our contact us page.  If using a SatNav to find us, it is better to input the postcode G77 5GU

What should I expect when I visit Maxwell Mearns?

Our Welcome Team will meet you at the door. They will be able to answer any questions you may have and direct you to the seats. There will be singing, prayer, a time for the children and readings from the Bible. The minister will then normally explain and apply the Bible passage which has been read.

After the service a lot of us stay around to chat over tea, coffee and juice. We normally go down to the Maxwell Hall for this. This is a lovely time for us to get to know each other a little better. We would love to meet you there.

What happens to the children at church?

We have children at all ages and stages of life:

Creche  (0 - 3 years)
HizKidz  Nursery - P7
Prime Time   S1 - S3

The Creche will welcome your wee ones on your arrival. Older children stay with their parents as we worship together at the start of the service. The children are usually invited to gather at the front for an age-related talk and then leave for their age-specific activities in the halls. We prefer you go with your children and register them on the first occasion they attend.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under church life.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself! Come in whatever clothes you want.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all! You are welcome to simply observe or participate in as much you feel is appropriate.
