Welcome

Last Sunday the all age talk was about second chances.  Anna 1

Anna, and Alexander made a tower of paper cups and achieved a height of 7 cups.
Donald was volunteered to help but the maximum height achieved stayed the same.
Later whilst the youngsters were in Sunday school  they tried again.
Anna had another go and achieved a mighty tower of 11 cups.
Well done Anna!

Also last Sunday we met for tea and coffee in the Dorothy Lloyd room.
Mike blessed the space and we all admired the difference in this room.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in this project.

We are fortunate because there are people who quietly go around the church and grounds getting things done. I have noticed the clothing bin is now much more visible, the leaves have been swept from the carpark, hedges have been trimmed, the drain next to the garage was cleared and probably much more. It all adds up to the smooth running of our church and is much appreciated by everyone.
The practicalities of our grounds and buildings take a lot of upkeep but everyone can play a part.

If you see an area that could use TLC please say something. An offer to manage or actively smarten up an area will always be accepted.

When we look at the big picture we can often feel overwhelmed and may even be tempted to give up, but if we do what we can when we can, in small manageable chunks, we will get there.

Let us all try and support each other in whatever we do. Let's be positive and work towards serving our Lord and Saviour in all aspects of our lives. Giving God the glory for all he has done for us.

Denise

New Members

Over the last few months we have had 2 new members join our congregation at Maxwell, Alyson and Jan.
We welcome you both and look forward to getting to know you better over coffee or tea after the service, each week.

WORK PARTY'S

As there are a number of areas requiring a little TLC it would be good if any one / family adopted a room or small project. paint pots

There is also a need for a larger work party to tackle larger projects like the toilet in the sanctuary and surrounding areas etc.
First come... as the saying goes. So speak to Sandy if you wish to work on a particular room / area please.

Blythswood Boxesblythswood new

We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of folks in our congregation and beyond throughout the year.
Blythswood has been supported in so many ways - empty shoe boxes, knitting and craft groups, box covering, numerous donations of toiletries, support by buying jams and cards, financial donations for fillers and many more.

Lynnette, Karen, their families and friends even hosted a "Blythswood Party" where they supplied fillers and filled numerous boxes in memory of their beloved parents.

Wrapping the boxes seems to have been undertaken by the men, fillers were bought and fun and fellowship followed.

We have already filled 500 boxes and these were uplifted earlier this week on the first stage of the journey to Ukraine.
A group of us filled these boxes throughout the year and it's given us a great start!

THANKS

A big thank you to the group of men who cleared the garage this week so we could have somewhere to store the boxes once delivered and the cartons for uplift prior to going to Ukraine.
You have done a sterling job and it is much appreciated.

Clothes Recycling Bin Clothes 1

The clothing recycling bin was emptied this week.

Thank you so much for continuing to recycle clothes, pairs of shoes, towels, bedding linens, curtains etc.

261 Kg was uplifted and the church  finances will benefit.

Place the clothes in a carrier bag, tie it securely and place in the recycling bin.

If the clothes can be reused they are passed on but even worn out/ torn items have a value.

Charity shops really only use clothes that are in season but the recycling bin takes all clothes at all times.

PRAYER GROUP  praying-over-bible

The prayer group meets in the Dorothy Lloyd Room every Wednesday at 7.30 pm. and all are welcome. You may pray aloud or in silence.
"Where two or three gather in my name there am I with them" Matthew 18:20

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place."

Maxwell Pray Now Group

Pray Now is a WhatsApp group for Maxwell members
pray now
This group sends out occasional requests for prayer. In particular those which might be regarding things more acute or immediate. At present there are 17 of us who, when we receive a request for prayer, stop what we are doing and pray for whatever has been asked.

Are you on the Pray Now WhatsApp Group? If you want to be added to the group to receive prayer news then simply ask Denise and she will add your number to the list.

If you have a matter that you would like to be prayed about in this way, you can contact Denise and she will organise for news to be sent out.
