Welcome

Now the bright lights of Christmas trees and decorations have been stored away until next December, what next?
We don't want to wish the weeks away and we all want God's word to be heard by as many as possible.
At events in Maxwell when the sanctuary has been full ; what a joy we all experienced. This doesn't just happen but it takes prayer, planning and a lot of hard work.
What an uplifting sermon we heard last week and we were told it's up to us - and God. Jump out of the boat and help whenever and wherever you are able.

I am still looking for someone to take over the magazine as, for me it is a rush alongside all the other things that call upon my time. Stuart has provided templates and with a little training that's it. Please consider taking this on.

Another area that could do with a couple more volunteers is the AV team. During the year folk will be taking holidays and we always need cover in cases of illness. If you would like to shadow one of the team just pop up to the balcony to see just what is involved. It just might be your calling and you could add another string to your bow. Lifelong learning keeps us young!

Session and Board Meeting faith

Please note our first meeting of 2025 will be held on

WEDNESDAY 15 JANUARY at 7.00pm. in the West Room.

Broomburn Steps BROOMBURN STEPS

Help is required to sweep the Broomburn Steps. They are treacherous at this time of year.
They have been swept today but with the icy weather folk will need to be extra cautious.
They are swept once a week.
At this time of year it is important to keep the steps clear.
If you are able to help please speak to Norman and he will add you to the rota.

Castle Cafe Castle Cafe

The next meeting will be held on

Thursday 9th January at 2.00 pm. in the West Room.

It's a great way to get to know members of our Church family and to strengthen relationships.

Everyone is welcome so please come along and enjoy the chat and a cuppa

Clothes Recycling Bin Clothes 1

Just a reminder about the clothes bin in the church car park.

If you have unwanted/worn out clothes they can benefit church finances.

Place the clothes in a carrier bag, tie it securely and place in the recycling bin.

It is emptied regularly and the church receives a bank transfer quarterly.

If the clothes can be reused they are passed on but even worn out/ torn items have a value.

Charity shops really only use clothes that are in season but the recycling bin takes all clothes at all times.

PRAYER GROUP  praying-over-bible

The prayer group will start up in the West Room and all will be welcome. You may pray aloud or in silence.
"Where two or three gather in my name there am I with them" Matthew 18:20

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place."

Maxwell Pray Now Group

Pray Now is a WhatsApp group for Maxwell members
pray now
This group sends out occasional requests for prayer. In particular those which might be regarding things more acute or immediate. At present there are 17 of us who, when we receive a request for prayer, stop what we are doing and pray for whatever has been asked.

Are you on the Pray Now WhatsApp Group? If you want to be added to the group to receive prayer news then simply ask Denise and she will add your number to the list.

If you have a matter that you would like to be prayed about in this way, you can contact Denise and she will organise for news to be sent out.
